Affordable Housing Trust · Meeting of May 6, 2026

WEST NEWBURY — Affordable Housing Trust unanimously approves $7,000 grant for home repairs. Chair Wendy Reed directed the fund release contingent on a post-work inspection by the Building Inspector, with checks made jointly to resident and contractor. The applicant property required priority repairs including a failing water heater, cracked drain pipes, and an unstable rear egress step, with total estimated costs ranging from $6,900 to $11,100.

The Trust, which holds approximately $306,000 in Community Preservation Committee funds and $434,000 in general funds, discussed strategies to expand contractor resources and support future applicants through a trusted-contractor list and volunteer assistance network.
