Board approves four septic plans; All Saints variance deferred

Board of Health · Meeting of May 12, 2026

West Newbury board of health approves four septic plans, continues All Saints review. The board unanimously approved septic system plans for four properties while continuing review of an All Saints Church variance request for converting historic Saint John's Hall into six affordable housing units for displaced people. Administrative Assistant Rachel Navarro and Health Agent Paul Sevigny's time-off requests were approved unanimously; Robert Janes was re-elected Board Chairman, 2-0-1.

A rooster noise complaint from resident Tim Kane against roosters at a neighboring property was resolved by allowing the rooster to remain; the board directed the Health Agent to assess conditions again in July.
