Board of Health sets FY27 budget path, opens waste disposal bidding

Board of Health · Meeting of January 13, 2026

West Newbury Board of Health advances FY27 budget framework. Chair Robert Janes and members Blake Seale and Thomas Fahey approved steady funding for Public Health Nurse and Hazardous Waste programs while increasing expenses for state-mandated training requirements. The Landfill budget will rise due to private wells testing and analysis costs.

Recycling is estimated at current levels pending contract procurement, while waste disposal costs are projected to increase 5 percent. The board launched a competitive request-for-information process for solid waste disposal services, with vendor proposals due February 6.
