WEST NEWBURY — Board of Water Commissioners greenlights Tighe & Bond rate study contract, schedules June public hearing. Chair Robert Janes led the unanimous approval of amended prior minutes and authorized immediate execution of the rate-study and master-plan agreement, with Water Superintendent Mark Marlowe to coordinate contract signature and delivery to Tighe & Bond. A legal notice for the June 15 public hearing on October 2026 water rates must be published in the Newburyport Daily News by Friday to meet the 14-day advance-notification requirement.

The board also voted to defer action on an Administrative Assistant job classification request until completion of an ongoing town classification study.
