Board of Water Commissioners defers cell tower, delays rate increase

Board of Water Commissioners · Meeting of April 21, 2026

West Newbury water board defers cell infrastructure project to fall town meeting. The Board of Water Commissioners, with members John Haley and Mark Hemingway present, heard a positive FY2026 revenue projection showing a 6.4 percent increase over the past three-year average, which may impact any FY2027 rate proposal. The Select Board withdrew the Brake Hill cell infrastructure project from the spring meeting.

The board voted unanimously to approve April 7 meeting minutes and tentatively scheduled May 6 to address water rate changes and set dates for a public rate hearing pending the newly elected commissioner's swearing-in.
