WEST NEWBURY — Climate Change Resiliency Committee advances Living Shoreline training application. Chair Elizabeth Callahan reported office hours with Select Board Chair Wendy Reed, confirming no plans to refill the Project Manager position this year and deferring Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness grant discussion until after June 30. Nancy Pau informed the committee that the Northeast Regional Ocean Council is funding a training series on living shoreline techniques, and formal town affiliation would strengthen the application.
Elizabeth Callahan reported on a webinar titled "Funding Strategies to Advance Resilience," which drew over 200 participants from 25 states and featured discussion of the proposed Massachusetts Ready bond bill, expected to pass in July, designed to address a funding gap left by recent Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness grant shortfalls.
