Conservation Commission ratifies enforcement order against tree cutting

WEST NEWBURY — The Conservation Commission voted unanimously to ratify a tree-cutting enforcement order at 48 Georgetown Road. The order requires owners who removed trees in a bordering vegetated wetland and buffer zone to file a restoration plan and appear at the February 23 meeting. A second tree-cutting violation at 14 Sawmill Brook Road remains pending revision after owners submitted an unsatisfactory plan; Member Barry Fogel specified April 15 as the earliest planting date.
The Commission also voted unanimously to decline interest in acquiring land at 125 River Road moving out of Chapter 61 tax-reduction status.
