WEST NEWBURY — Energy and Sustainability Committee recommends maintaining EV charging rates at status quo. Chair Arthur (Chip) Wallace and the full five-member panel voted to keep rates at 35 cents per kilowatt-hour rather than drop to 30 cents, prioritizing operating-cost recovery over usage expansion. Wallace will meet with the Select Board to arrange a tour and energy audit of the Public Safety Building and to discuss the 2024 statewide energy stretch code's impact on accessory dwelling unit construction costs, which the Select Board flagged for committee review at their January 22 meeting.
