WEST NEWBURY — Finance Committee approves 10 warrant articles for spring Town Meeting. The committee voted unanimously to recommend eight articles including Police Cruiser Replacement, Police Tasers, Fire SCBA Equipment, Police Patrol Rifles, and multiple public safety facility upgrades. The Fire Off-Road Utility Vehicle passed 4-1, and Town Offices Interior Painting passed 3-2 after discussion about potential deferral.
Culvert Conditions Assessments passed 4-1. The Water Department Garage Exterior Improvements was tabled for further discussion. Town Manager Angus Jennings reviewed FY27 operating budgets for Assessors, Town Clerk, Essex County Retirement, and other departments; the town's budget currently reflects Pentucket Regional School District's proposed $825,000 reduction shared among member towns.
