Finance Committee · Meeting of March 19, 2026

WEST NEWBURY — Finance Committee endorses three Community Preservation articles, defers full budget vote. The panel unanimously approved warrant Articles 17, 18, and 19 (amended to $25,000 for Cammett Park recreation) on March 19, also ratifying corrections to Articles 4 and 11 regarding pension drawdowns. In departmental reviews, the committee noted a $17,869 DPW wage increase for FY27 to cover collective bargaining agreement costs exceeding estimates, a 10-officer Police staffing model, and a Fire Department all-call budget of $115,000.

Emergency Management was reduced $500 to meet the 2.5 percent non-school budget cap. No formal budget recommendations were voted; a full committee recommendation is scheduled for April 1.
