Finance Committee recommends FY27 budget with $32,685 in adjustments.

WEST NEWBURY — Finance Committee unanimously backs revised FY27 budget. The panel, with Daniel Innes presiding, recommended $32,685 in adjustments including a $30,000 increase to the Finance Committee Reserve Fund, $2,000 to library books and periodicals, and $685 to the veterans fund. The Select Board budget maintains a non-education increase of approximately 2.5 percent and a 3 percent cost-of-living adjustment for town staff.

The Committee also voted unanimously to recommend warrant articles establishing a new Fees Bylaw and accepting state authorization for fee-setting, and revised Article 47 to retain a $50,000 unfunded positions allocation as a financial safeguard.
