Finance Committee reviews draft FY27 capital projects totaling over $500,000.

Finance Committee · Meeting of January 28, 2026

WEST NEWBURY — Finance Committee reviews proposed FY27 capital articles without voting. The committee heard presentations totaling over half a million dollars in requests, including a $100,000 compact excavator purchase, $71,000 police cruiser replacement, $50,000 Page School window replacement, and $46,000 electronic taser upgrade with virtual reality training capability. Chair Dennis LaMalfa presented a new evaluation tool for ranking capital projects, which the committee favored over its previous method.

The Public Safety roof project FY26 will close with unused funds returned to the appropriate account after the town switched from an approved metal roof to a 30-year asphalt shingle roof to control costs.
