Mill Pond Committee approves prior minutes, advances dock and trail projects

Mill Pond Committee · Meeting of April 22, 2026

WEST NEWBURY — The Mill Pond Committee approved prior meeting minutes and accelerated a dock repair project at its April 22 session. Spring rains have submerged the dock entrance, creating erosion as visitors improvise crossings; the Conservation Commission deemed it a limited project, and the committee voted to refer it to the Department of Public Works with an earlier timeline in the Town Work Plan. Work continues on trail marking at Sawmill Brook and a signage inventory, both due to complete in late April.

Two community events are planned: a birding walk in May and a movie night on June 26, 2026, with Ioana Horotan-Enescu and Jason Goldweber taking the lead on logistics and promotion.
