Open Space Committee approves February minutes, advances Mill Pond accessible path planning.

WEST NEWBURY — Open Space Committee approves prior minutes and hears consultant on Mill Pond path. Chair Carol Decker and members, including Patricia Reeser and John Dodge, heard from Glenn Goddard of Northeast Trail Works that the accessible walkway is 75 percent complete in planning and will use Crusher Fine stone dust under ADA standards; the project is slated for fiscal year 2027 or beyond pending identification of a project manager. The committee also discussed a bridge crossing at Sawmill Brook with the Essex County Trail Association and has hired two Land Stewards and two interns under Conservation Agent Dan Callahan's supervision to work on invasive plant removal and trail maintenance.
