WEST NEWBURY — Open Space Committee approves November minutes, sets 2027 priorities. Chair Carol Decker and the committee discussed budget needs including water crossing bridges at Sawmill Brook Conservation Area and new Webster Creek trails, with all expenses requiring prior approval. Patricia Reeser reported on potential river access at River Meadow, where town-owned property could accommodate a canoe or kayak launch with an estimated $100 startup budget.
The committee plans to explore grant funding and coordinate with Northeast Trails and the Mill Pond Committee on developing an all-access trail at Mill Pond, with an Essex County Greenbelt presentation on a new mapping tool scheduled for the February 25 meeting.
