WEST NEWBURY — Planning Board advances major multifamily proposal and approves scenic roads opening. The board unanimously endorsed a 26-unit open space development at 187 Main Street by John Sarkis, advancing it to a January 20 review pending clarification of inclusionary housing options and density bonuses; a by-right alternative shows 26 duplex units. The board also unanimously approved a scenic roads driveway opening for Stephen Hayden on Rogers Street.

In cannabis zoning, the board voted 5-0 to exclude marijuana establishments within 250 feet of two church daycare facilities, avoiding a blanket ban under the state default 500-foot school setback.
