WEST NEWBURY — Planning Board unanimously votes to engage Merrimack Valley Planning Commission for visioning and buildout services. Chair Ann E Bardeen moved the motion, seconded by Clerk Raymond A. Cook, eliminating the need for a separate RFP and saving the town time and resources; the 5-0 vote approved proceeding with a draft scope of work with MVPC, which is already familiar with the town and the grants process.

In related action, members discussed proposed changes to Subdivision Rules and Regulations section 4.2.10.2 governing steep slopes, with Brian R. Murphey proposing to lower the pre-construction grade limit from 25 percent to 20 percent based on past runoff concerns, but the board deferred scheduling a public hearing pending further discussion on standardizing slope standards.
