RAAC approves letter to legislators on Whittier feasibility study scope.
Whittier Regional Agreement Amendment Committee · Meeting of January 7, 2026
WEST NEWBURY — Whittier tech regional committee backs letter to legislators on study scope. The Regional Agreement Amendment Committee voted 8-1 to send a cover letter to district legislators with the committee's November 2025 correspondence to the Massachusetts School Building Authority regarding the scope of a required feasibility study. West Newbury's Angus Jennings, committee chair, also presented the committee's twelve-month timeline for amending the regional agreement, with the goal of introducing a draft reflecting supermajority support by spring 2027 town meetings.
The committee set monthly meetings through April, adopted protocols for voting by community and hybrid participation, and established a shared Google Drive for document collaboration. Superintendent Maureen Lynch presented enrollment data and confirmed Whittier can fund the feasibility study from capital reserves without sharing the initial cost with member municipalities.
