Select Board approves bike route designation, adds Cammett Park walkway to workplan

West Newbury Select Board endorses bike route and approves reserve fund transfer. Chair Wendy Reed and Member Christopher Wile unanimously approved U.S. Bicycle Route 1 designation along Middle Street, which would align the town with a national cycling network extending from Maine to Key West; a letter of support will be prepared.
The Board also unanimously approved a $15,000 transfer from the Finance Committee Reserve Fund to support an Organizational Assessment and added a Cammett Park walkway project connecting the pickleball court to the parking area to the town workplan. The Board closed the Annual and Special Spring Town Meeting Warrants after discussion of capital consolidation, zoning amendments, and FY27 budgeting priorities including potential staffing changes tied to planned retirements.
