West Newbury Select Board approves FY26 budget transfer and committee appointments. Chair Wendy Reed and members Barry Fogel and Christopher Wile unanimously approved a line-item transfer moving funds from the Department of Public Works into town building operating expenses to close the fiscal year by the July 15 statutory deadline. The board appointed Mark Angelini to a two-year Finance Committee term effective July 16 and named Sam Joslin as the town's Local Government Representative for Small Clean Energy Infrastructure Facilities permitting under state regulations.
Three special event permits were approved: two dates for a West Newbury Riding and Driving Club schooling jumper show and the 12th Annual Harborside Half Marathon and 5K on November 8. Town Manager Angus Jennings announced that Patricia Moore will start as Town Treasurer/Collector on August 3, and that the pickleball courts will open with a ribbon cutting within one to two weeks.
