WEST NEWBURY — Select Board approves equestrian permits and reappoints board members. The board unanimously approved special permits for two events hosted by the West Newbury Riding and Driving Club scheduled for June 28 and June 30, and reappointed nine individuals and one associate member to town boards and committees for fiscal year 2027. Finance Committee members Dennis LaMalfa and Gary Roberts received term extensions to July 16.
The board also unanimously approved FY27 grade-step and employee compensation schedules and renewed the Animal Control Intermunicipal Agreement with Newburyport for one year, pending possible three-year renewal. Town Manager Angus Jennings reported the Middle Street Bridge project on track despite custom-guardrail installation delays, with pickleball courts nearing completion and invasive species management underway.
