Select Board designates Ivria Glass as Special Municipal Employee for Water Counsel

West Newbury Select Board unanimously designates water counsel as Special Municipal Employee. The board approved a motion from member Christopher Wile, seconded by Chair Wendy Reed, to designate attorney Ivria Glass of Harrington Heep, LLP as Special Water Counsel. Glass explained the designation allows her colleagues at the firm to serve other abutting communities while maintaining conflict-of-interest compliance, with no effect on her representation of West Newbury.
The board also unanimously approved the town's application for the Living Shoreline Planning Series training program, focusing on nature-based resiliency strategies for River Road, after agreeing to add the Conservation Agent to the three-member training team. Health insurance opt-out policy was reauthorized for FY27 at existing rates pending exploration of alternative options.
