Town Governance Committee clarifies oversight role, plans resident survey

Town Governance Committee · Meeting of May 13, 2026

WEST NEWBURY — Town Governance Committee convenes with Paradigm Associates consultants to define its oversight role. Chair Wendy Reed and members Ann Bardeen, Jennifer Walsh, and Tom Ellis agreed to function as a unified point of contact, with the committee operating independently of consultants at separate meetings to align messaging. Consultants Julie Jacobson and Bernie Lynch reported completing interviews with department heads and employees and comparing West Newbury against similar towns including Newbury, Salisbury, Hamilton, and Lenox.

Surveys to Board, Commission, and Committee chairs and to residents will launch mid to late June, with responses directed to Paradigm Associates.
