West Newbury assessors approve exemptions, abatements in routine meeting

West Newbury Board of Assessors approves 10 property tax exemptions and $47,067 in abatement reports. Chair William Studzinski, members Scott Goldthwaite and Richard Baker, Chief Assessor Christian Kuhn, and Assistant Assessor Maureen Curtin unanimously approved exemptions for seven veteran, two Community Preservation Act, and one senior property, plus $47,067 in combined fiscal 2025 and 2026 motor vehicle and real estate abatement and exemption reports. Member Goldthwaite moved that Kuhn draft a memo to the Select Board addressing fiscal year 2027 budget process changes made by the Select Board; the motion passed unanimously.
