West Newbury Commission tables three wetland applications, discusses beaver dam proposal

West Newbury Conservation Commission tables three wetland applications pending post installation. The Commission unanimously deferred a driveway application for 0 Middle Street, a resource-area delineation for 187 Main Street, and two certificates of compliance for 9 Marshall Drive to June 1. In separate action, the Commission discussed a Northeast Mosquito Control proposal to breach the beaver dam at Tewksbury Lane to address water-flow issues affecting Crane Neck Street septic systems.

The Commission expressed concerns about large-scale dredging of a perennial stream and directed Conservation Agent Dan Callahan to obtain details of claimed Wetlands Protection Act exemptions and coordinate with the Health Agent on any required Commission filings. Commission member Barry Fogel announced his departure after election to the Select Board.
