Garden club to discuss Rose Bowl Parade floats Nov. 5

The West Newbury Garden Club announced its November meeting will take place Thursday, Nov. 5, at 6:30 p.m., focusing on the design and construction of Rose Bowl Parade floats.

Karen Fitzgerald of the Marblehead Garden Club will speak about the history of the New Year's Day parade and the behind-the-scenes work and logistics involved in creating the floats. She will also present close-up photographs of floats made entirely from natural materials at the "Floral Fest."

The meeting will be held at the Annex of the Town Offices, 381 Main St., West Newbury. There is a $5 guest fee.
