The Town of West Newbury and the G.A.R. Memorial Library announced Oct. 21 that they are exploring possibilities for the future of the library building and are inviting residents to share their thoughts.

A community meeting with project consultants is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 29, at 6 p.m. at the Annex, 379 Main Street, next to the 1910 Town Offices building at 381 Main Street.

The announcement states that residents of all kinds, whether regular visitors, occasional users or those who rarely visit the library, are welcome to attend and offer their perspective. Organizers said they want to hear what people love about the library and what should be preserved, what is missing, and what would make the library more useful to residents and the community.

The town and library described the meeting as an opportunity to learn more about the project and help shape the conversation about what comes next for the building.
