West Newbury Select Board Votes to Post Library Circulation Job at Full-Time 40 Hours

WEST NEWBURY — November 13, 2025 — West Newbury Select Board votes to post library head of circulation at full-time 40 hours. The board voted unanimously Thursday to authorize Library Director Corinne to recruit for the position at 40 hours per week, up from the 31 hours in the current fiscal year 2026 salary schedule — a change carrying an estimated $13,000 annual cost that Town Manager Angus Ramsay said could largely be absorbed within the existing library budget. The director had initially requested 35 hours, saying she believed 40 was unlikely to win approval, but board members pushed for the higher figure. "If you're going to approve 35, just approve the 40, because the delta's probably five grand," one member said. The board also unanimously approved a Right to Farm disclosure form and authorized Ramsay to post a public hearing notice for a December 4 meeting on a package of personnel policy amendments — including a remote work policy that has been in draft since 2020 — with proposed changes to be circulated to staff at least 10 days in advance.
