Conservation Commission continues four matters pending DEP review and approvals

Conservation Commission · Meeting of June 15, 2026

WEST NEWBURY — Conservation Commission defers four matters to July 6 pending state approval. Chair Margaret (Molly) Hawkins, Vice Chair David Parrott, Member Jennifer Boyd (remote), and Clerk Rick Spieler voted unanimously to continue a driveway notice of intent, a resource-area determination, and a Mill Pond dock gangway project awaiting a DEP file number. The Commission found the gangway design — mounted on granite with flow-through decking and no fill or excavation — acceptable pending final state authorization.

The board also issued a negative determination for dead tree removal at 89 Bachelor Street by the Department of Public Works, finding the work justified but requesting prior Commission approval for future similar work.
