WEST NEWBURY — Town Governance Committee reviews interim organizational findings and Town Manager search timeline. Consultants John Petrin and Julie Jacobson of Community Paradigm advised prioritizing corrections to governance documents to eliminate inconsistencies between the Town Manager Act, bylaws, and policies; additional changes would require phased implementation over multiple years. Chair Wendy Reed will comment on the community profile draft before publication.
The committee will select six to seven candidates for screening interviews conducted in executive session at a location other than Town Hall, with applicant identities remaining confidential until finalists advance to Select Board interviews. A final report is expected by late August or early September.
