Whittier Tech committee defers capital cost vote to July 29
Whittier Regional Agreement Amendment Committee · Meeting of July 8, 2026
WEST NEWBURY — Whittier Tech's Regional Agreement Amendment Committee postponed a formal vote on a 50/50 capital cost allocation model to July 29, deferring the decision after committee members requested time to consult their home boards. Angus Jennings of West Newbury led an informal round-robin in which seven municipalities, including West Newbury, Amesbury, and Salisbury, backed the 50/50 model alongside a two-thirds majority threshold for future agreement amendments; Rowley favored enrollment-based allocation; and Merrimac, Haverhill, Georgetown, and Groveland either declined to commit or deferred to local review. The committee unanimously approved prior meeting minutes and authorized Jennings to draft a transmittal memo with individual municipal position statements for School Committee referral by July 23.
