Select Board appoints Wile to Whittier regional amendment committee
Select Board · Meeting of August 10, 2026
WEST NEWBURY — The Select Board unanimously appointed Christopher Wile as West Newbury's voting representative to the Whittier Regional Agreement Amendment Committee, with Interim Town Manager Sean Fitzgerald as alternate. The board also unanimously reappointed the Town Clerk as Chief Election Officer. In lengthy general discussion, Wile read a statement opposing a proposed 50-50 capital cost allocation for a potential new Whittier vocational school building, arguing that per-pupil enrollment remains the most equitable method and that the rival proposal's $200 million budget estimate understates true project costs.
The earlier June 10 vote endorsing enrollment-based allocation (9-1-1) will stand as the RAAC's recommendation to Whittier Tech's School Committee.
