Select Board maps FY27 priorities in strategic planning session

WEST NEWBURY — Select Board conducts strategic planning for fiscal year 2027 goals. Interim Town Manager Sean Fitzgerald presented initial observations on town operations and staff performance, with the Board identifying six broad goal areas: organizational culture and leadership, community and civic development, land use and water resources, community facilities and infrastructure, fiscal sustainability, and regional collaboration. The Board also prioritized immediate attention to employee evaluation processes, compensation practices, IBEW bargaining negotiations, and the future of Page School, while moving to develop a formal town mission statement and maintain separation between governance and administrative functions.
A revised draft of FY27 goals will be presented for future Board consideration.
